PORTIA CLUB MEETING AND PICNIC
Payette Enterprise May 27, 1926

The regular meeting of the Portia club and a picnic dinner was held on the lawn of Mrs. Mae McGlinchey on Monday, May 24th. After the picnic dinner, the meeting was opened by the President, Mrs. Albert White. The minutes of the last meeting was read and approved. It was then by motion decided to put a float in the Memorial Day parade and also any Portia ladies having cars to join the parade decorated in the club colors.

The Secretary made her report for the year, also all standing committees reported for two years. A committee was appointed for the new year book. Mrs. M. E. Wood resigned as treasurer which was accepted with regrets, and Mrs. Conover elected to fill the vacancy. Mrs. White gave a report of the Federation at Nampa, and Mrs. Hughes gave a talk on the social affairs at the Federation meeting.

The club gave a standing vote of thanks to the Farmers Co-operative Creamer for giving them the opportunity to serve at their annual picnic.

The Girl Scouts band directed by J. H. Stoner, being especially arranged for by Mrs. McGlinchey, for which she paid a goodly sum were present and rendered several music numbers which added much to the pleasure of the afternoon.
